Since the beginning of November I've been taking singing classes. Every Sunday at 7 p.m. I meet up with my singing teacher, to practice and learn something new.

The ordinary meeting is divided into three main parts:

-part one(10-15 minutes) - voice warm-up, singing loudly.
-part two(35-40 minutes) - developing new techniques, practicing vibrato.
-part three(5 minutes) - cooling down the diaphragm.

Despite the fact that classes give me satisfaction, through the classes I was able to achieve important outcomes, I've shown show perseverance and commitment, because I am really interested in that, and I haven't missed a single class so far! In such activities commitment and perseverance are very vital because without them student cannot achieve what he wants, and I have a certain goals, I do not want to become a professional singer, however, I want to be able to sing well, because I simply enjoy doing it. Hopefully thanks to this activity I managed to achieve one of CAS learning outcomes and I am satisfied about it.

2. This is also undertaking new challenges, even though this is not my first experience with music, I used to play guitar, for the first time I thought that I could sing. Singing is not an easy activity, especially considering the fact that I am not young enough, but thanks to that it gives me more satisfaction when I do something correct. I like challenges and singing is both, pleasurable and challenging, which means that, although, it's hard I like doing it.

With my classmate Oscar Lange we have decided to run a basketball team in our school.Together we thought that we could achieve something and have a lot of fun as well. We want to keep fit and have a little break from school, by having balanced life which consist of both study & sport.

So far we’ve managed to talk with the Headmaster who agreed and supported the idea. Personally I’m really looking forward to it, because I know how sport is important in everyday life.

We’ve prepared two versions of posters, recruited the team and after the mock exams we would like to start. By now we meet up once a week on Friday and play for approximately 70 minutes, but we’re planning to do trainings on Wednesday and Thursdays also.

This definitely is a planned and initiated action as it was our own idea and initiative. This activity definitely demands some devotion and work, it's not easy to set everything up to working, especially considering the fact that we have a lot of school work, however, I am sure that through this activity both of us learned how to plan actions and as it was our own idea we showed the initiative. For me organizing events and other actions is really entertaining and gives me satisfaction, I think that everything is going alright and thanks to that activity, except for the basketball, we will improve in many other areas, such as
planning and initiating actions.

This activity is all about working collaboratively with others, it isn't involving only one or two persons, but the whole team, and for the team to work well, the cooperation is something that cannot be lacking. So far we are really getting on with each other well, we have other opinions on some aspects, but we do manage to be productive and my cooperation with the teammates is very good. Not only we have common interests - basketball, but also we have many other subjects to discuss. This activity taught me that I have to listen to others, in order to achieve something, and that opinions of other people might be useful as well, and I'm happy that I have understood it so far.

Diamond Cars

I do a lot of projects in Photoshop and Illustrator because I am pretty fluent in these programs. I had a great opportunity to participate in the free contest, my work did not win, but it took third place, I've put a lot of effort into it, because I wanted it to be as good as possible. It took me about 5 hours and I think that for the amount of time I spent it's a good job. Another outcome that I have achieved thanks to the activity is "undertaking new challenges", I wasn't sure if I shall participate in the contest, due to the fact that I don't have much free time and I am really involved in school affairs, but I am really happy that finally I decided to go for it.

1. It increased the awareness of my own strengths and areas for growth because I both knew I could take the first place and I'm satisfied with what I achieved because other participants were really gifted. I know that there is still room for me to grow and improve, because I am still young person who can achieve a lot. I think that every activity we do teaches us something and we should learn something from it. Preparing that logo taught me that if we try hard for something we can achieve it.

2. Thanks to that activity I  have also developed a new skill. I discovered a new, interesting and a very vital feature in Photoshop - how to create the three dimensional effect. Everything that we do should bring us somewhere, this activity taught me that there we are never too old and that there is never too late to improve and to learn something.

swiateczna paczka

Before Christmas our school participated in the Swiateczna Paczka action. Thanks to Paulina Szymanska and her initiative a very poor family had received not only basic necessities but also Christmas gifts. My contribution, however, not that meaningful, but also important - I helped packing the presents and carried the packages. It needed collaboration with others, and took about 3 hours. I consider it as undertaking new challenges, because this is something that I have done for the first time. Through that action I engaged myself in the issue of a global importance - poverty, I "thought globally and acted locally", because we should start changing the world from our surrounding.
I also "considered the ethical implications of my actions", what is important that I realized that there are people who can not even spend normal Christmas, not caring about the basic necessities, not to mention the smallest gifts.

Time to gain some practical skill.

Last weekend I worked as a volunteer at a one of the juice bars “Skok na Sok” located in Kabaty district. I had to cooperate with other people and help them, which was difficult for because they went really harsh on me, anyhow I enjoyed time spent there ! By reason of that I developed new skill which may be useful in my future life. I am really satisfied with what I have been doing because because it showed that I can work collaboratively with others. Being a bartender means that you have to get in contact with your colleagues and communicate well with them, because this is the only ket to success. I am really happy that I actually had an opportunity to take part in the "real life", doing something for real, it was not fun, but I like to talk with customers and spend time with other people, because there is always something you can learn from them. I consider it as a planed and initiated activity, due to the fact that I had to be there at a certain hour - 10 a.m. and it was planned 1 week before the activity. It was also my own initiative, having on my mind CAS hours I asked if there would be a chance for me to work, and fortunately there was. I think that every work experience is really valuable, especially considering the fact that in the near future I will have to work, and this was really useful for me.

Think. Create. Design.

I find a great interest in fashion, one year ago I was a big activist, I took part in many fashion shows, and mode played an important role in my life. Although, this year I don’t have much free time I took out one of my old jackets and decide to change something about it. 

My goal was to put some life into it through very little details, give it the avant-guard look and I think I managed to achieve it. I have looked for some nice buttons and I've ordered them on the Internet. Although I am not very good at sewing I managed to deal with them. I have also cut around 15 cm of the sleeves, so that the jacket gained more "modern" look. What is important about redesigning is to remember what we want to achieve. I wanted to make it more interesting and eye catching.
By reason of that activity I managed to achieve these outcomes:
-"working collaboratively with others" - I had a model, who was not a pro, and it is really hard to work with someone who does not have any experience, however, we got on easily together and I am really happy about our collaboration.
-"developing new skill" - although this is not my first time with sewing and designing I feel like I have done something new, because I have never used any "background" before. This time I decided to only change the old and useless jacket, put some life into it, which is I think even harder than to simply create a new piece.

Undertaking new challenges is indeed demanding, I've never tried DJ'ing before, but I thought why don't go for it and as soon as I had the opportunity I used it. I find it really creative and involving, I started to like it, even though I didn't formerly. I've been practicing for 5 straight hours and I am really satisfied with the results. Despite the satisfaction that practice taught me that it is never to late to take up new activities, I didn't think that I would ever be able to mix, and as it turned out I was. I think that we should do as many things as possible because we can find them really interesting and then they might be useful in our future life because we never know - maybe one day, we will find ourselves at someone's birthday and will have to play some music? For me this is precisely what CAS is all about, teaching us how to be able to act in every (unusual) situation. Thanks to that activity I have increased awareness of my my own strengths and areas for growth. Formerly I had literally no idea that I actually could be a DJ and by reason of that activity I know that we could do whatever we like, it demands only some work and self-confidence. Of course I am very far from being pro, but I am sure that if I only want I can improve in that area.
